How to transfer your shows from the Dish Network DVR 522
I have for a long time wanted to get the content ( tv shows, movies, music) off my wonderful
DishNetwork dvr and on to a dvd or my computer.
Now with a USB to IDE cable and some freeware, I can do both!
First off here is what you need.
If you need the USB cable or a DVD recorder you can go here to get them cheap!
Now on to the work!
- Turn off you DVR 522 box, and unplug all cord, cables.
- Remove the 4 or 6 screws from the bottom of the box. (don’t lose them!)
- Remove the top of the DVR
- Now you should see the sliver metal rack/case that holds the HardDrive. (This has a sticker, that if removed voids a warranty. Who’s warranty? I am not sure. I know that I do not own my box, it is part of the agreement with Dish Network. So if the box breaks they replace it anyway..right? So does it void their warranty? )
- Unscrew the 2 screws that hold the metal case/rack to get to the hard drive
- Now you should be able to unplug the power supply and IDE cable from the hard drive….do so.
- Take the hard drive to your computer, plug the IDE to USB cable and the power supply into the DVR’s drive.
- Plug the power supply to the outlet. You should hear/feel the drive spin up.
- Now plug the usb cable from the Drive to your computer
- Launch or start the PVR Explorer Pro software.
- Click the boxes of the shows you want and press start
That’s it your done. Now you have the show and movies from you DVR on you computer.
They are in Mpeg2 format. Window media Player and most other media players will play them on you computer. I burned the files direct to DVD and they play on all three of my home DVD players, but you may need to use some software to convert or create better dvd’s.
I hope this helps everyone out. I just love that I can now archive my son’s Mickey Mouse clubhouse, Dora, and Blue’s Clues shows…….and free up some much needed space on the DVR.
Ok I also love that I can now save my Star Trek Voyager, Star Trek Enterprise , StarGate, E.R , and Day’s of Our Lives show!

Does the Catholic bible have more books than King James?
After the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, with increasing persecution from the Romans and competition from the fledgling Christian Church, the Jewish leaders came together and declared its official canon of Scripture, eliminating seven books from the Septuagint.
The books removed were Tobit, Judith, 1 Maccabees, 2 Maccabees, Wisdom (of Solomon), Sirach, and Baruch. Parts of existing books were also removed including Psalm 151 (from Psalms), parts of the Book of Esther, Susanna (from Daniel as chapter 13), and Bel and the Dragon (from Daniel as chapter 14).
The Christian Church filled with the Holy Spirit did not follow suit but kept all the books in the Septuagint. 46 + 27 = 73 Books total.
1500 years later, Protestants decided to keep the Catholic New Testament but change its Old Testament from the Catholic canon to the Jewish canon.
The books that were removed supported such things as
• Prayers for the dead (Tobit 12:12; 2 Maccabees 12:39-45)
• Purgatory (Wisdom 3:1-7)
• Intercession of saints in heaven (2 Maccabees 15:14)
• Intercession of angels (Tobit 12:12-15)
The books they dropped are sometimes called the Apocrypha.

Ipad clone or Droid Tablet? Well as always China has come up with a great little gem. It looks like the Ipad and runs like the Droid!
This Pad has an 8 inch LCD multi-touch display @ 800 x 480. It runs Google Android OS version 1.6, and has an 800mhz via cpu. It only has 87mb of internal storage but has a SD card slot for up to 16gb of extra storage.
There is also a USB port and another port they call “dock port”. Not sure what you would use the USB for in a portable device like this, but it’s nice to have. Another function is called “ Gravity Sensor “ which seem very much like the Ipad. Well you get all this for about $150.00 USD !
Seems like a low price alternative for the Ipad, with all the features of the Droid. Here is a like to one place to get one. Actfind.com $144.99
